Thousands of workers, including firefighters, took to the streets on Saturday 18 June at the TUC demo demanding a new deal for workers from the Westminster government.
FBU members marched through the streets of London carrying banners and placards, protesting at the cost-of-living crisis and ongoing austerity impacting workers’ pay and public services.
FBU general secretary Matt Wrack and Kasey LeGall, Leicestershire national women’s committee brigade rep, gave powerful speeches at Parliament Square denouncing the government’s treatment of firefighters and the fire service.
