This paper is provided to outline the position of the Fire Brigades Union on the various proposals we face in relation to the pensions of those working in the fire and rescue service.
We are not convinced at all of the need for further changes to public sector pensions, including those in the fire and rescue service. Indeed we believe there are several areas where pension provision within the fire service is in urgent need of improvement.
