The Grenfell Tower fire was a disaster that should never have been allowed to happen and one which saw FBU members go beyond the call of duty to save as many lives as possible. The August issue of Firefighter focuses heavily on the aftermath of Grenfell in what was the worst loss of life in a fire in the U.K. since the Second World War. We look at the upcoming inquiry as well as back to the deregulation of fire codes in recent years. Firefighter also features a collection of letters and emails that the union received to thank firefighters and emergency control operators for their work on what must have been the toughest shift of their lives.
