Conference notes that there is a significant disparity between rates of CPD across the UK.

The highest rate is £1,076, whilst the lowest is £320 with a whole range of rates in between. Clearly this disparity leaves most of our Members suffering from an unfair detriment through no fault of their own. After all, firefighters across the UK have the same rolemap and carry out the same tasks.

Since CPD was introduced, we have lost around 30% of Grey Book posts in the UK, leaving fire service employers with a significant saving.

Conference instructs the Executive Council to negotiate through the National Joint Council that all firefighters and firefighters Control across the UK are levelled up to the highest CPD payment.
