Control Mergers

This Conference reaffirms its opposition to Fire Service Control mergers, either between Brigades or with any other emergency service. Amalgamation of Fire Service Controls and/or shared joint control room arrangements will seriously affect the ability of Fire and Rescue Services to deal with incidents efficiently and will place many firefighters and the public in danger Therefore, we call on the Executive Council and all of the FBU membership to use all means at their disposal, including strike action, to fight the introduction of Control mergers wherever they occur.
