BBC show ‘An idiots guide to politics’ visited an FBU picket line as part of a segment on why voters are losing trust in politicians.
Presenter Jolyon Rubenstein visited firefighters at Chelsea fire station who recalled how Prime Minister David Cameron promised no frontline fire cuts on the eve of the 2010 general election, only to oversee the axeing of over 5,0000 firefighter jobs. Jolyon, with the help of two retired firefighters, then makes a trip to Conservative party headquarters with hilarious results.
Filmed in September firefighters were on strike over controversial pension changes that would see firefighters pay more, work longer and get less as well as putting the public and firefighters at risk. You can view the segment here.
