What Demonstration to get the public to take part in cuts consultation to Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service

Firefighters in Lincolnshire are urging members of the public to take part in a consultation over £1.3M cuts to the counties fire and rescue service ahead of a demonstration this Saturday at St Benedicts Square on Lincoln High Street.
Lincolnshire Fire Authority is consulting on plans to slash the number of frontline firefighter jobs, cutting the number of firefighters who respond to incidents and reduce service cover at night.
Dan Taylor, brigade secretary of the FBU in Lincolnshire, said: “This is the final chance members of the public will be able to have their say on local fire services as the consultation closes 6 February.
“These proposals will impact on every single community in the county. They are dangerous and will devastate fire services for years to come.
“Reducing crews on fire engines, lowering officer numbers and increasing response times within an ever growing city such as Lincoln is dangerous for the public.
“The public need to have their say.”
