In a recent episode of Any Questions, the long running BBC Radio 4 debate show, a member of the audience asked the panel of politicians about the FBU’s dispute with the government over pensions.
You can listen to the full show here. The question on firefighters’ pensions is asked at the 39 minute stage.
The panellists included Conservative transport minister John Hayes, Labour shadow secretary of state for the environment Maria Eagle, deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats Malcolm Bruce MP and Ukip MEP Louise Bours.
Matt Wrack, FBU general secretary, said: “This highlights the impact lobbying can have. By making the case directly to politicians they are forced to confront the issues and engage with our arguments.”
