Gateshead firefighters at the weekend received a visit from a young man whom they rescued in 2006.
Firefighters across the country were on strike for seven hours on Saturday 21 June in their campaign to prevent government attacks on their pensions.
Nathaniel Smith was rescued from a house fire by firefighters from the station in 2006.
He visited the station with his family to show his support for the Fire Brigades Union’s campaign.
