Ahead of a summit of French and German governments to plan the next few months of work in the European Union, campaigners have released a video setting out the case for the introduction of a Robin Hood Tax for the financial sector.
Campaigners argue that a Financial Transaction Tax would raise hundreds of billions every year globally and give a boost to the NHS, schools and the fight against child poverty in the UK – as well as tackling poverty and climate change around the world.
As well as writing to European leaders, the campaign has launched a funny video staring international film stars Andrew Lincoln (The Walking Dead), Bill Nighy (Love Actually), Clémence Poésy (Harry Potter), Heike Makatsch (The Book Thief) and Javier Cámara (Bad Education).
