The Fire Brigades Union has expressed concern at what it says is an “inaccurate” statement made by the Scottish Government on firefighter pensions.
In a statement issued today, Roseanna Cunningham, the Scottish Government minister for community safety and legal affairs, claimed that firefighters in Scotland had accepted a proposal on pension reform.
However, the FBU has emphasised that this is not the case.
FBU general secretary, Matt Wrack, said: “Firefighters in Scotland have voted to not take strike action at the current time, but there has been no settlement of our trade dispute with Scottish Goverment.
“It is unhelpful for misleading comments to be made on a matter that is still under discussion.”
