All the evidence shows that firefighters are being diagnosed with diseases like cancer at much higher rates than the general public, but employers and the government are years behind other countries in addressing this issue.
The aim of the FBU’s DECON campaign is to help firefighters protect themselves and others from fire contaminants while fighting for the protection, prevention and health monitoring we need.
This form is for all current FBU members, and friends and family of FBU members impacted by cancer. The primary purpose of it is to enable firefighters to tell their stories in the media and be part of the campaign. It is not, in itself, a research project.
