Dear Member,
It is with great sadness we report the death of Brother Chris Short, a firefighter at Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Chris passed away on the 17th August while on a family holiday. He first joined the fire service in 2006, working for West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service at Cradley Heath, Aston and Dudley Fire Stations, before transferring to Shropshire and serving at Telford Fire Station.
Chris was a highly regarded firefighter and was known to bring joy to all those he worked with.
Most importantly, he was a devoted and loving family man who leaves behind his wife Alex and three children - Violet aged 12, Poppy aged 12 and Albert aged 6.
Everyone in the FBU sends Chris’s family, friends, and colleagues our condolences, solidarity and support at this very sad time.
FBU officials at local and national level are liaising to ensure all necessary steps are taken to provide support to family and colleagues.
