Dear Member,
FBU Disabled and Neurodivergent Members’ Forum
The Fire Brigades Union contains people with minds and bodies of all kinds and functions. Following Conference 2023, the Executive Council decided to address the matter of organising disabled and neurodivergent members.
In order to start this process, a national members’ forum has been organised for the 20th March 2024 in Leeds.
Open to any FBU member who identifies as disabled and/or neurodivergent, the forum is the chance for members to have their say about their experiences of being disabled in the workplace, meet other disabled members from across the UK, hear from expert speakers from the wider trade union movement, and start forming collective demands for change.
It is important that we organise to demand a fire and rescue service that is more inclusive and where anyone can thrive without fear of discrimination or disadvantage.
This forum is a chance to be involved in the first event of its kind in the Fire Brigades Union. We need you to be a part of it to ensure that the voice of members with disabilities and neurodivergence is organised and effective.
