FBU Response to White Paper on Fire and Rescue
We have previously alerted all FBU members to the various risks to our service posed by the Westminster government’s White Paper on so called ‘reform’ of the fire and rescue service. The proposals or suggestions made within the White Paper pose various threats to our profession, our service, our rights, and our pay and conditions.

Following the removal of Boris Johnson as Prime Minister, there have been numerous changes to government ministers. This included the resignation of the fire minister, Lord Greenhalgh. He has now been replaced by Sarah Dines. However, it is highly likely that there will be a further major government re-shuffle once the Conservatives choose a new leader.
We do not currently know what impact all these changes may have on the threats posed by the White Paper. We are seeking a meeting with the current minister and will push for the government to start to listen to the voices of those on the front line rather than seeking to further attack our rights and our conditions.
