Suspension of Election for FBU President
Further to circular 2021HOC0549MW which advised members of the commencement of the election process for FBU President, this circular is to inform you that in accordance with the rules of the union, that election has now had to be suspended.
Rule G3(1)(v) is clear in that if a member who is eligible to stand in an election is suspended from office under Rule G3, then any election for office they are eligible to stand for will also be suspended.
Rule G3(1)(v):
(v) Should the election for an office from which the defendant has been suspended fall due during the period of suspension then that election shall also be suspended pending the outcome of proceedings under this rule, as shall the election for any other office for which the defendant is, or would be, but for the operation of this rule, eligible to stand.
Further information about when the election can and shall recommence will be circulated to all members accordingly.
