Dear Brother/Sister
Region 11 Restructure
The Fire Brigades Union Special Online Conference 28 May 2021 considered several matters of policy. One of the matters considered was in relation to a proposed restructure of Region 11 which consisted of eight Brigades: Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire & Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex.
Conference agreed the proposal (and the consequential Rule change) which are both attached for your information. For the avoidance of doubt, conference agreed a final form of words with some slight amendment to that circulated to branches before the special conference. Those amendments altered the wording but not the substance of the proposal.
The change had immediate effect.
Therefore, the agreed restructure will result in the formation of the following two Regions:
Region 11 South East Region: East Sussex, Kent, Surrey and West Sussex
Region 12 Southern Region: Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire & Isle of Wight and Oxfordshire
As a consequence the region comprising Avon, Cornwall, Devon & Somerset and Dorset & Wiltshire is now called Region 13 South West Region.
Immediately following the close of Conference the President and National Officer met with the Officials from within both the new regions and in accordance with the Rule Book, if required, acting officials were agreed. Rule Book elections will now take place as and when required.
The officials at regional level are as follows:
