TRADE UNION BILL – UNION MEMBERSHIP FEES
As you are aware, despite overwhelming opposition from unions and employers, the Tory Government are pushing ahead with their Trade Union Bill, which will see the end of our ability to collect your union membership fees through deduction at source (check-off).
We are currently carrying out a programme of change to direct debit, and members will, over the coming months, receive a direct debit mandate form to your home address. These are being sent out in a phased process as described below:
Region 12 1st December 2015
Region 5 15th December 2015
Region 9 5th January 2016
Region 1 15th January 2016
Region 8 1st February 2015
Region 13 1st February 2016
Region 4 15th February 2016
Region 6 1st March 2016
Region 7 1st March 2016
Region 3 15th March 2016
Region 10 31st March 2016
If members wish to complete a mandate form prior to the scheduled distribution, you can do so by obtaining a form from an official in your region or brigade, or by downloading one from the FBU website www.fbu.org.uk.
When completing the direct debit form, it is important to also complete the check-off cancellation details on the form, which will allow us to ensure a smooth transition for you to direct debit.
