Call for industrial action (Essex)

Dear Brother/Sister,

Members have been informed of the result of the ballot for strike action in Essex which was in addition to the previous ballots on the national dispute.

Members have also been informed of the ongoing industrial action short of a strike on the national dispute ' those details remain as notified up to 18.00 on 5th August 2015.

As the person authorised to make the call for industrial action, I now confirm that this discontinuous industrial action will take place at the times/dates specified below. Please note that references to firefighter members are to all members except control:

5th August 2015 until 18.00 ' industrial action short of a strike (all firefighter members)

6th August 2015 09.00 until 6th August 2015 18.00 ' strike action (all RDS firefighter members and all other firefighter members who are station based crew managers or station based watch managers including those who are required to undertake the duties of station based crew managers or station based watch managers*)

7th August 2015 09.00 until further notice ' industrial action short of a strike (all firefighter members)

*For the avoidance of doubt those other firefighter members who are required to undertake the duties of station based crew managers or station based watch managers includes other firefighter members in other ranks/roles who on a strike day are required to undertake the duties of station based crew managers/watch managers such as riding as officer in charge of an operational fire service appliance.

These are the dates/times which have been determined upon. We hope the matter will be resolved shortly. If not, further dates/times in respect of this ongoing industrial action will be notified once determined. Members are now called upon to take industrial action on the dates/times specified above and previously and also on any further dates to be so notified.
