Dear Brother/Sister,

NJC Circular 10/15 is attached to this Head Office circular.  It announces the final phase of the terms and conditions settlement. At the end of this final phase, all members who are entitled to a claim under the part-time workers settlement would have been sent an offer.  Members will be aware from circular NJC/4/13 of the decision to extend application of the settlement agreements to cover wholetime employees with previous retained duty system service within the same FRA and within the reference period (1 July 2000 to 30 June 2010), subject to meeting the over-arching eligibility criteria, including that they remained employed as at 8 March 2011. It is these members in particular who will be covered by this final phase.

This final phase will also include the provision of offers to those members who have found themselves not recognised by fire and rescue services, but who have since been able to provide sufficient evidence to prove their period of employment.

Offers will not be made immediately to the effected members.  The final phase needs to begin with the supply of data from fire and rescue services to Popularis.  We have received confirmation that fire and rescue services have been sent a communication by the employers' national joint secretary that initiates this process, which will be completed by no later than 21 July 2015.

Offers will be sent to the effected members by no later than 4 September 2015.  A further Head Office circular will be promulgated shortly before that date to advise members what they should do when they receive an offer.

Best wishes.

Yours fraternally

Andy Dark
Assistant General Secretary
