Labour's Shadow Fire Minister for Westminster, Lyn Brown MP, has conducted a survey of interested parties regarding the future of the Fire and Rescue Service in England. Please find attached the union's response to this survey and our wider comments.
The Executive Council has made it clear that the FBU is highly critical of the status quo within the Fire and Rescue Service, but cautious about endorsing reorganisation plans without clarity on funding, jobs and conditions. We have engaged constructively with this survey and believe the FBU should be central to any future plans to restructure the Fire and Rescue Service.
