The Pension Ombudsman has recently released an update which gives details on the next step of their investigation.
They have confirmed that they are now looking at the lead complaint and the submission that has been presented by the Government Actuary's Department (GAD).
The complainant will have an opportunity to give comments on this submission as part of the next stage.
The ombudsman does not give a clear indication when a final decision is expected other than to say it should be in the first few months of next year.
FBU members have been patient throughout this process which has been frustrated by appeals at several points.
Please note however that there is still no further action necessary from those involved other than to keep up to speed with developments. The ombudsman has confirmed on several occasions that they are dealing with this issue through lead cases which reflect the positions of all involved.
