Control

The FBU is proud to represent staff members working in control: the teams who answer calls from those who need the fire and rescue service and make sure firefighters and engines get to the right place.

The union’s control section makes sure the union best represents the interests of control members, advising other parts of the union on issues affecting their conditions of employment and helping to inform negotiations that take place on behalf of control members.

Each of the UK’s 13 regions elect a representative to the control section’s committee, and a national control chair and secretary are elected by a national ballot of control members.

Every year, the union organises a national general meeting of control staff members.
