North West fire control

Conference notes with concern that North West Fire Control is not a member of the National Joint Council (NJC) for Local Authority Fire and Rescue Services. North West Fire Control employs FBU Members in the control (firefighter) role and all pay increases have refl ected exactly those agreed within the NJC. North West Fire Control exists as a Local Authority Controlled Company (LACC) and conforms to the requirements of the Fire and Rescue Services Act 2004 but our Members do not enjoy the benefi ts of the NJC due to the employer not recognising the NJC for representative purposes.

Conference calls on the Executive Council to raise this issue with the employers’ side of the NJC to investigate all available and relevant avenues to establish NJC recognition in relation to North West Fire Control and our Members.
