FBU education programme

Conference notes the absence of the FBU’s ‘Qualifications and Workforce Development in the UK Fire and Rescue Service (FRS)’ course from its education programme. Conference also notes the lack of leadership in the UK FRS with regard to ensuring a consistent approach toward recruitment and selection, competence and training, and developing and reviewing Rolemaps derived from the National Occupation Standards.

Conference recognises that understanding this subject is crucial for Reps to effectively represent their Members. Therefore, Conference instructs the Executive Council to commission work to review and update the ‘Qualifications and Workforce Development in the UK FRS’ course and reintroduce it to the national education programme.
