Continual professional development payments

In 2006 it was recommended by the National Joint Council that Continual Professional Development (CPD) payments, where possible, should be a minimum of £500 per annum. Conference notes that a number of Fire and Rescue Services CPD payments still fall below that level.

Conference agrees that CPD payment should be brought up to a new minimum level, which refl ects historical pay increases, not less than £600 per annum (full-time equivalent). Conference also agrees that Brigade Offi cials, who represent Members in a Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) that does not pay this minimum level, will raise this issue with their respective FRS as a matter of priority. Brigade Offi cials will report on the progress of achieving this minimum level at their respective Regional Committee Meetings.
