The right to criticise

Conference is appalled at the strategy of some within the Labour Party, the Tories and the right wing press in trying to stir up a false storm of anti-Semitism within the Party. Conference is disgusted with the antics of John Mann and the right wing in attempting to engender a position where any discourse relating to the atrocities carried out by the Israeli state upon the peoples of Palestine is somehow anti-Semitic. Conference acknowledges that supporting the desire of Palestinians for legitimate self determination, human rights and their own state, and condemning Israeli government policies does not make someone anti-Semitic. Conference recognises the right to be able to criticise states such as Israel for carrying out such atrocities and reaffirms our support for the plight of the Palestinian state.
