Protecting workers rights, defending the human rights act

Conference deplores these Tory governments plans to repeal the Human Rights Act. The Act has been a cornerstone in providing protection of the rights and safety of workers. It has also set the benchmark for the promotion of LGBT equality both for existing and new member states joining the European Union. Conference calls on the Executive Council to work with the TUC and its affiliated trades unions to campaign against the government’s attacks on the Human Rights Act.
