National joint council workstreams

Conference notes that discussions exploring the viability of the Fire and Rescue Service workforce taking on additional work remain ongoing within a number of National Joint Council workstreams. The Executive Council has previously committed to seeking improvements in pay in return for any agreement to extend the responsibilities, skills and competencies of FBU Members. Conference reaffirms that the demand for appropriate remuneration for additional work remains a core part of the Union’s negotiating strategy in these discussions.

Further, Conference instructs the Executive Council:

• not to ratify any proposed agreement on new responsibilities in the absence of associated pay improvements.

• to undertake the fullest consultation with Members on any proposed new responsibilities and associated pay framework resulting from the workstream discussions. LONDON
