FBU online shop

Conference welcomes the improvements and development shown in the latest FBU national website. It is of importance that we utilise technological advancements to improve our communications and interactions both with our membership and wider interested parties. The worldwide web offers a number of opportunities which we are still yet to explore as a Union. One such opportunity is to provide access to an online FBU shop. During the pension campaign and before there has been widespread demand for FBU branded items, which in the absence of an online shop, has made it difficult to coordinate purchases of such items through Brigade Officials.

Conference therefore instructs our Executive Council to put to tender, negotiate and agree a contract for a national FBU shop to include production, distribution and margins. To also simultaneously begin the process of making a capital expenditure to design and implement a website that incorporates a national online shop by which FBU Members and other interested parties can purchase a wide range of FBU branded products that will be delivered to their desired address. With the upcoming FBU centenary anniversary this would prove a helpful resource to coordinate and distribute any specially produced items. We instruct that the FBU online shop should be implemented and running by no later than Conference 2017.
