Firefighter pension schemes IQMP process

Conference is concerned at the lack of consistency of the Firefighter pension
Schemes ‘Independent Qualified Medical Practitioner’ assessment process and in
particular, the definition of ‘permanent’ in relation to the requirement for an injury or
illness to be deemed ‘permanent’.

Conference calls upon the Executive Council to instigate an investigation to ascertain
the extent of the problem, and if deemed necessary, raise the matter with all relevant
bodies to seek to address the issue.
