Fire and rescue services inspection process

Conference notes with concern the use of peer reviews in the audit and validation
process and the potential for imbalances of standards across the whole of the United
Kingdom Fire and Rescue Service. With this in mind this Conference calls upon the
Executive Council to embark upon a campaign for a single recognised independent
inspectorate for the Fire and Rescue Service with a view to replace the current system
of the peer review inspections system by neighbouring Fire and Rescue Services. This
will ensure that all Fire and Rescue Services are inspected and validated in a
standardised way.
