Toxins

Conference recognises previous research undertaken on behalf of the FBU with
regard to the potential effects of exposure of toxins to Firefighters. Despite this
research, there remains no accredited report in the UK to support a possible link
between that exposure and work related cancers.

Conference demands that the Executive Council instigates further research into toxins
with a view to establishing any possible link to work related cancers arising from
firefighting duties and a subsequent report to be circulated to Brigade Officials within
12 months after the close of Conference 2013.
