Retired and out of trade members

This Conference notes that time off for trade union duties is getting harder in Brigades
as staffing figures fall and austerity kicks in. Conference applauds Officials and
Members who toiled tirelessley for the Union in previous years and who have
subsequently retired.

It is apparent by the numbers of Retired and Out Of Trade Members that there is still
that massive strength of feeling for the Fire Brigades Union. Therefore this Conference
calls upon the Executive Council to carry out a feasibility study into having a retired
and out of trade network. This study is to include recommendations into the structure,
responsibilities, effectiveness and operation of such a network and should take no
longer than 12 months and reported back to Brigade Committees for them to
consider what to do next.
