Campaign for benefits justice

Conference condemns the Government’s savage attacks on benefits, which will push
millions further into poverty and despair.

Conference further condemns the disgusting bedroom tax, which will force tenants
who claim housing benefit and have an additional room either to pay more rent or
downsize to a smaller dwelling.

This has already led to the reported suicide of “Stephanie Bottrill” who killed herself
because she faced an £80p/m rent increase.

We call upon Conference to:

• Support the Anti Bedroom Tax Federations that have been set up in Scotland, and England and Wales;
•  Affiliate to the Benefits Justice Campaign;
•  To call upon FBU members to join demonstrations and protests organised against the bedroom tax and other benefits.
