Scottish Fire & Rescue Service Consultation

This Conference notes that on 10th February 2011 the Scottish Government began a Consultation on the Future of the Fire and Rescue Service in Scotland. Conference also notes the Initial Options Appraisal Report which preceded the consultation. This exercise by the Scottish Government is about cuts to Fire Service budgets in Scotland. This will result in threats to our members’ jobs, particularly Firefighters on the retained duty system, officers and control staff. This Conference calls on the Executive Council to commit to fighting these cuts, every job loss, including job losses from forced relocation of posts. This to be done within the framework of FBU policies, in particular Emergency Resolution 1 and Resolution 32 from Annual Conference 2010.
