National Joint Council

Conference demands that all attempts to dismantle the National Negotiating Machinery and the National Joint Council (NJC) be resisted by the Executive Council in the strongest possible way. Conference acknowledges that on occasions the NJC does not deliver what is best for members of the FBU but the principle of a National body to oversee the pay and conditions of Firefighters and Emergency Fire Control Staff is one that must be retained in order to protect members and the sustainability of the Fire Brigades Union.
