Water Incidents

Conference notes the increasing number of waterside incidents that FBU members are attending. These incidents include; responding to incidents at lochs, lakes, reservoirs, canals, harbours, estuaries, rivers and flood water. Conference is concerned at the inconsistencies in safe operating procedures, equipment and training between different Fire and Rescue Authorities. Conference instructs the Executive Council to instigate a review of current Fire and Rescue Authorities capabilities in relation to responding to waterside incidents. This is with a view to producing guidance containing a national standard that will assist FBU Officials.
