Respirators RPE

Imminent publication of CFRA guidance for RPE, has highlighted a gap in firefighter safety. Conferences believes that the current policy held with regards to RPE has saved many lives of our members over the years. However with further advances in technology, this brigade believes that the use of respirators, in certain circumstances and not in an oxygen deficient atmosphere where active monitoring is in use, will enhance fire-fighter safety. Therefore conference instructs the executive Council to develop best practice for the controlled use of RPE respirators into an FBU policy.
