This Conference views with great concern the number of incidents attended by both our members and members of the ambulance service, where the ambulance crew consists of various staffing combinations which do not include fully trained paramedics. Conference believes this places both firefighters and non paramedic qualified ambulance personnel as well as members of the public, in an unacceptable position. With this in mind Conference agrees to seek the assistance of other trade unions and organisations in order to campaign for the compulsory inclusion of at least one fully trained paramedic per ambulance vehicle crew.
