Transferability

Conference endorses the principle that a firefighter is a firefighter regardless of what type of duty system they work. In accepting this principle, it is necessary that all personnel working the Retained Duty System (RDS) have equality of access to all assessment and development opportunities relevant to their role. Conference therefore demands that the Executive Council develop and agree national guidance to facilitate local negotiations whereby RDS personnel have the same opportunities to apply for a transfer to internal vacancies that arise for their role, regardless of the type of duty system.
