Risk Assessments

Conference instructs the Executive Council to conduct a national survey of Fire and Rescue Services to establish what work has been, and is continuing to be, carried out on risk assessments in relation to each individual fire authorityʼs IRMP. The survey should identify whether or not all risks to life, property, heritage and the environment have been adequately assessed and that: ● Appropriate and acceptable control measures are put in place to deal with all identifiable risks. ● Sufficient resources are available to deal with all identified risks, at all times. ● All equipment and safe systems of work to deal with those risks are fully risk assessed by competent persons. ● Risk assessments are being regularly reviewed and consultation on such is taking place with FBU Brigade Officials. ● Whether any best practice can be identified or concerns highlighted. The survey to be completed and a report made available to Brigade Officials prior to Annual Conference 2010.
