The People's Charter

This Conference welcomes the publication of the Peopleʼs Charter in February 2009, which was borne out of the current economic crisis caused by numerous financial institutions. Conference condemns the UK Government for bailing out the banks with public money and agrees that working class people must not have to pay for the recklessness of the bankers and the Government. Conference acknowledges the role played by the Fire Brigades Union in developing the Charter and fully supports its demands. Consequently, Conference agrees that all members and Officials of the Union should be encouraged to sign the Charter and that the Union at both Regional and National levels should actively campaign to publicise and pursue the aims of the Charter.
