Emergency Fire Appliance Driving

It is now over 40 years since the first FBU Conference policy was agreed that related to members not driving through red traffic lights. Since this time, there have been numerous resolutions and Conference debates, both supporting and opposing subsequent variations to the original resolution. Conference is aware that this is a contentious issue, and many FBU members continue to drive through red traffic lights, albeit with caution, when responding to emergency incidents. Conference instructs the Executive Council to undertake a full review of all issues relating to emergency fire appliance driving and related FBU policies, to report back with its findings to the FBU Conference in 2010.
