Elected Fire Authority/Board Members Irmp Information Pack

Conference requires that all elected members of fire and rescue authorities/boards are provided with an information pack, which clearly indicates the obligations they have, not just to FBU members, but the public they are elected to represent and themselves when considering proposed IRMPs. This information should also be accessible to the general public. This information to clearly indicate that any IRMP is the property of the authority/board that approves it and not that of the senior manager who proposes it; consequently issues which arise as a result of an inappropriately designed IRMP are also the responsibility of that authority/board and not the senior manager involved. The purpose of this resolution is to provide information which should focus the minds of those responsible for the potential introduction of measures, which may have a detrimental impact on the safety of firefighters and communities.
