Dna Sampling

Conference notes with concern the Governmentʼs proposal, announced last week, to retain DNA samples, taken from individuals arrested, for 6 years for non serious offences and 12 years for serious offences, even when the individuals are subsequently not charged or found guilty of the alleged offence. Conference therefore instructs the Executive Council to lobby Government so that all DNA samples of individuals not charged or found guilty of any offence are immediately destroyed.
