Discipline Procedure

Conference demands that the Executive Council address the ever growing problem of the application and use of discipline within Brigades. Since the introduction of the new procedures more of our members have been disciplined and dismissed than under the old Fire Services Discipline Regulations. Conference is particularly concerned that in many cases of dismissal an appeal to an independent body outside of the Fire Service is not allowed. Conference demands that the Executive Council report back, with recommendations, no later than Conference 2010 with a detailed report of the application of the Discipline Regulations across Brigades.
