Conference reaffirms its opposition to the UKʼs nuclear weapons of mass destruction and notes the UK Governmentʼs continued commitment to renewing Trident at a minimum cost of £70 billion. This was a gross misuse of public funds prior to the economic crisis and would now represent an unpardonable folly at a time when public expenditure is due to face massive cutbacks. Conference further calls for the labour and trade union movement to support CND by mounting a mass campaign of opposition to reverse current Government policy and have the renewal of Trident cancelled.
