Water Rescue

This Conference calls upon the Executive Council to engage with Communities and Local Government to ensure that fire authorities are adequately funded in order to provide sufficient resource with regard to the increased risk of flooding. This must ensure the following as a minimum standard; ● Adequate provision of equipment and personal protective equipment, for example, dry suits, life jackets and sumo pumps, to ensure that procedures and health and safety considerations are not jeopardised. ● Adequate facilities to dry clothing and equipment. ● Adequate crew levels to be maintained to ensure the full capability of the service is available at times of extreme conditions. ● Provide a comprehensive water rescue response. ● Provide provision for Emergency Fire Control Staff in affected areas.
