Councils in England are being urged to pass emergency motions to support their local firefighters in their pension dispute with the Westminster government.
Newcastle City Council passed an emergency motion calling for Westminster fire minister Penny Mordaunt to enter into urgent negotiations with the FBU in England, as well as asking Members of Parliament representing constituents within the local authority to sign EDM 454 – Public Service Pensions.
Other councils are being asked to follow suit.
